I Took up tennis Played for the Southern Electricity Board (SEB) and Yeovil Hospital.  Played in matches for the SEB at Salisbury, Bournemouth.  Went to a holiday camp at Torbay for a week including a tennis tournament.
Met a girl who played tennis and the friendship was developing into something that was not quite platonic. In fact she invited me up to Winchmore Hill Tennis Club for Lunch with her Father, The Club Finals and a Dance afterwards which was just before Wimbledon. All went well till the dance, when we had the first dance together, and from then on she danced very romantically with another chap.

Well I put plan B into action. I said to myself “Bail out Baxi Boy” and “Burn your Boats.” I’m off.

Anyay I scarpered. Unfortunately there were no buses at the time so I route marched back several miles to the Knights Club just before the doors closed.
