1949-1954 Purchasing department

As a buyer and stock checker/maintainer which was  for electrical and radio items.  A lively section of the above Wessex Electric Company was their Yearly Pantomime in which I was reluctantly persuaded to take part in a leading role in “Aladdin.”  This turned out to be the front legs of the horse.  Talk about “being taken for a ride.” In the matinee performance for young children, I turned it into a singing horse which went down very well. It was done in all the next performances and in fact understandably, was the only time I have sung solo on stage!
