Business trips 1971-1974:- 

Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong, India (i/c a 2 day  Muslim wedding in Madras, and Bombay during the Monsoon,) for buying and arranging manufacturing radio audio for Rank.  Sponsored trips to Tenerife, Marrakech, Clearwater Beach Florida, Hilton Head Island S. Carolina.

1971 - New York –  Diploma course International Marketing - Columbia University – Harriman House – Catskill Mountains New York State. It was here that students (mostly vice presidents of Companies like Coca Cola, and major US manufacturing/ retail Companies) were teamed up and roomed up with 1 other who would then have a case to study and present their findings. I found that on the first night my fellow student the vice president of Chrysler was an horrendous snorer. I said I couldn’t possibly tolerate this situation and demanded another room. After a lot of argy bargy they put me in an annexe. I woke up on the second night and found some giant red ants crawling all over the place including the bed. So I decided to leave the lights on and pull the bed blankets well off the floor. Another interesting incident was that during the morning and afternoon sessions we were all brought a mug of coffee round at an interval during the lecture. But, a bespectacled, posh speaking English Managing Director demanded that tea be brought round to him on a tray. This was done throughout the course much to the guffawing of all students.
Sales marketing exercise in New York, Chicago, – visited every electrical store, dept store along 5th ave. Also visited Indianapolis where I learnt about the pioneer development of the integrated chip.  Other regular visits to Paris, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hanover.
